Meet the Surgeon: Dr. Somasundaram Sathappan
Dr. Soma is a Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon. He graduated from the University of Malaya in 1989 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1994. He then completed a Master of Surgery at UKM in 1996 and worked as a lecturer and clinical specialist in the Burns, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at UKM from 1996 to 2005. He trained in burns and plastic surgery at Morriston Hospital in Swansea, Wales. He became a Member of the Academy of Medicine Malaysia in 2003.
He is a member of the Malaysian Medical Association, the Malaysian Association of Plastic, Aesthetic and Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
